i'm laughing here - hard-fi in the UK does not have a reputation for being tough or streetwise at all, their so-called working class 'street cred' certainly pales in comparison to, say, the Arctic Monkeys.

jeff i agree completely. i spent most of the show wishing i had seen them before they got the mercury nod...they took a while to get going, started to rock, and then promptly lost my attention.

I don't really understand the difference between a piece like this and the music post from yesterday. I understand that in this one "I" is used and in the other one, "we" and "gothamist" are used. Both express the opinions of the author, no? Is it that Jeff Baum's opinions are not in keeping with Gothamist but Catherine's are? Does everyone at Gothamist think Patti Smith should stop performing and that Julia Hatfield is a hasbeen?
