New York Neighborhoods + VideoBlogging = TurnHere.com

2006_1_turnhere12.jpgYou may have realized that for the last few weeks we've been getting pretty obsessed with videoblogging-- especially the great daily feature at Rocketboom and the clips at Vimeo. Here's another link to add to the pile: TurnHere. Produced by some of the same people behind the Inman Stories (remember Lockhart's hilarious video interview?) TurnHere focuses on neighborhoods, and they've already got a bunch of NYC clips up for your viewing pleasure:

New York, NY High Style
New York, NY Loft Living
New York, NY The Bronx
Brooklyn, NY Dumbo
New York, NY Canal Street

We may have to get into this whole videoblogging game pretty soon-- we were thinking of doing a daily three minute clip where we have Thompson the cat read the news. Then he asked for an insane pay-package, so we decided to shelve the project.

  • Jake, someone already beat you to the Cat News idea:

You gotta love the inside-loop chumminess that blogs use -- Lockhart's (first name only) hilaroius video interview? Would that be Denton Media/Curbed suzerain Lockhart Steele? Didn't care to clue anyone else in to that or you just assumed he's a 'star' in the blog world, did you?

Which of course is quite a (healthy) leap from the real one, where someone saying the word "Lockhart" in such a matter-of-fact way would elicit blank stares and queries such as "Lacques Art? Is that some new SoHo gallery?"

    If only....
