January 18th 2006, its midnight 8 C and the thunder cracks outside, its raining heavy and lightning. Two days ago we had a major snowstorm and yesterday temperatures were well below freezing. Even this morning it was -9 C. Saturday the 14th it went from freezing cold to 15 C and rained so heavy the streets were flooded and you couldnt see. The weather for Friday is predicted to snow. Every two days it switches from Spring to Winter and then back again. And we live in Eastern Canada. This is not normal, it should be -25 C at least (some year temps go down to -45 C) and there should be at least 3 feet of snow on the ground. I was outside in my bare feet in the rain at night and it was warm. One day you have to wear winter coats, hats and mitts and the next you can walk out in capris and a hoodie. The world is ending!

This weather is just too freaky. Its giving me the creeps. Here, in provincial ol' Lockport, just 20 minutes from Buffalo, it should be as low as -20, with a lot of wind, and of course, a lot of snow on the ground, that is freezing solid..if you haven't shoveled or plowed it, or if it didn't blow away before the January Canadian Clipper hit, that snow is there until mid February. This year? IT WAS 55 TODAY!!!! Whats next-polar bears swimming in Lake Ontario? Will the NYS Parks police find themselves doing more chasing penguins off the Old Fort Niagara grounds, than teenagers looking for the ghost in the castle?
And Shrub tells us, there's no such thing as global warming or climate change....

All the happy TV anchors who cluck with glee when the temperature is above normal won't be laughing when Kansas City winds up on the east coast when the Greenland glacier melts.
