Why would they take a car from the yard to the tracks? They're connected.
I know that really heavy maintenance for the Staten Island Railroad involves trucking their R44 subway cars to the Coney Island shops.
Actually it was going from the Kawasaki factory in Yonkers to the Bronx somewhere.
