Howard Back on the Air

2006_01_howardsternshow.jpgSo, Howard Stern is on the air - if you happen to get Siruis satellite. Is anyone listening right now? We saw him on Larry King Live, where he explained why his daughter quit the off-Broadway show she was going to be nude in (Stern's claim - the producer betrayed his daughter by saying he wasn't going to publicize Howard Stern's daughter would be naked on stage) and who his best and worst interviews were (best: Arnold, Stevie Wonder, and Paul Anka; worst: Gilda Radner). Well, maybe getting Howard Stern on satellite TV will be funny.

MarksFriggin says that Howard has covered Geroge Takei's "first gay experience" and discusses David Lee Roth. Gothamist has heard DLR and he's boring.

Actually they will be adding internet streaming of the show in the future and unlike K-Rock Sirius will rebroadcast at 9pm for those of us who commute underground.

No commercial but I bought Sirius for Howard and I actually love it for the music - Howard is just the bonus

howard stern = joey buttafuoco + heavy metal gear + braunstein jeri curl.

  • I never liked Howard Stern. Why anyone would listen to this putz from Long Island escapes me. If I want to hear putzes from Long Island mouth off like idiots, I can just listen to WFAN.

  • Chicago Tribune was Brutal:

    "Howard Stern: uncensored, uninteresting"

George Takei is his new Announcer??

  • Right. But when I'm home for a small portion of Howards day, and in front of a computer at work for the majority of it, seems like a waste as that would be my only reason to purchase it. I'd rather listen to my own music vs someone elses playlist. In todays world, it seems a shame to be locked to one location, when the internet lets you be anywhere.

Yo Neil, you can get a Sirius radio for about $50 that can be used at home or in the car. Not a bank buster at all.

I'd subscribe to Sirius but for the "entire commute is by subway" thing combined with the "job doesn't lend itself to listening to the radio" thing. I like Stern, but haven't been able to listen to him since moving to NYC from Boston (with a commute by aboveground T and buses). Alas.

  • I would have been on top of it, but I can't get around buying the hardware. Would be nice if they offered a rental option, like Cable TV does.

Also, they should offer paid subscription to their internet feeds, as I'm moving around all day and I can't exactly take my Sirius with me.

Of course I hear that Stern isn't even on their internet stream for paid subscribers, so I guess the whole thing is moot.
