was this song about pot? I thought they were making fun of the play on words about pot. It was like they were saying "chronic" and then somebody gets excited that it's pot so they say "what?!" and then they find out it was actually the movie chronicles of narnia

Hey Ruidh I hope you are referring to someone else and not yourself since "Chronic" has been Pot slang at least since 1992 when Dr. Dre, formerly of N.W.A. released his groundbreaking album, "The Chronic." I guarantee it was used well before that...

you can really tell that Parnell actually is a hip-hod head because he knows how to carry the rhythmn of the performance. Very impressive. And I have to say, this Andy kid is coming on strong. I checked out his old stuff and he certainly shined in the old group, it's no wonder the other two guys are writers. They better start picking it up with more of this stuff if they want to hang around though.

The best was the weekend article about the Teutul family of Orange County Choppers and Discovery Channel fame. The Times felt the need to explain to "more urbane Manhattanites" that "American Chopper" wasn't a show about patriotic dentistry. I say, how droll!

It's oddly comforting to see the N.Y. Times try and be a bit more 'common man' in it's coverage. But a bit sad as well since it's clear their source for most of this pop culture info is second hand at best. I appreciate the depth they bring at times, but it all seems a wee bit desperate in its own way.

For some reason I am reminded of an old Daily News or New York Newsday (R.I.P.) TV ad which made a joke of the Times sports coverage, which had "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" being sung or read, but in proper Times style English. I also get a feeling of deja vu when I read the Times' Metro Section, as I seemed to have read the same news the day before in the Daily News.
