Map of the Day: Following the Dollars

2005_12_fundracemap.jpg

This cool mashup maps 2004 election donations by zipcode (the data is supplied by FundRace, which also has some cool maps.] All those blue dots are donations to the Democrats, and all the red dots are donations to the Republicans. Poor red dots! So lonely! [Hat tip to the new New York Times real estate blog "The Walk-Through" for a link to the map. Sorry, Curbed, please don't be mad that we're cheating on you with another real estate site.]

You'd think, with all of those proud, blue fundraising dots, the city could've elected a decent Democratic mayor sometime in the last decade... kinda sad that a Democratic stronghold like NYC can't even elect one of their own. Poor blue dots, is more like it!
