More Dyker Heights Lights, Please!

2005_12_dykerheights1.jpg

Only thirteen shopping days until Christmas, but you don't have to get us a gift. The only thing Gothamist wants is more pictures of the Dyker Heights Christmas Lights, up on 84th Street in Brooklyn (between 12th and 13th Avenue)-- see the map at right. Blogger 423 Smith is up on the board first, with some wonderful shots from last week. Flickr is letting us down-- only a few paltry offerings on the "Dyker Heights" tag-- Brooklyn+Lights does slightly better. If you've been out to see the lights and took some pictures, let us know and we'll add them to this post.

Glad you enjoyed the pics. Inspired by our trip to Dyker heights, we also set up a wayfaring map of xmas lights in brooklyn and are looking for some more hot spots. Comment in some locations on our blog, or the wayfaring map and we will get them plotted.

thanks!

I haven't gone yet this year, but I have a bunch of photos on Flickr from last year. I just retagged them so they'll come up on a search for "Dyker Heights" or brooklyn+christmas.

I bet it's because of the changing demographic of Carrol Gardens. Yuppie hipsters wouldn't deign to decorate garishly at Christmas - white lights, red bows, a couple of pine cones, and that's it.

made this a few years ago:

been meaning to update. any idea when the lights go untill? chrismas came so quick this year!

President Street Between Smith and Hoyt is amazing this year with 324 President as it's shining star. Defenitely worth the trip.
