<description>&lt;p&gt;Sigh. It&apos;s depressing to think that one day, the creeping Manhattanization of Brooklyn and Queens may mean the end of sights like these, low-rise neighborhoods where you can actually see broad swaths of sky. (Although that process will almost certainly not be complete in our lifetimes, thankfully.) Not that I hate Manhattan, but a little bit of variety never hurts. Let Manhattan be Manhattan and Brooklyn be Brooklyn. Screw Ratner.

And how could you point to Forgotten-NY without linking to the page about the Kentile and Eagle signs? There&apos;s lots of good stuff in the F-NY archives.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
