Firefighter Injured on Way to Fire is Getting Better

The firefighter injured Friday night when he fell off a fire truck is now responsive but still cannot speak. Joseph Moore fell off the rig when the company was responding to a fire at Bagel Bob's on York and 8rth Street - when the truck went onto Lexington, the door opened and Moore fell, cracking his skull. The firefighters' union is blaming the accident on the FDNY's reliance on old equipment; in fact, the Seagrave truck Moore fell from was only in service because the regular truck was being serviced.

Another company was able to respond to the fire at Bagel Bob's.

The truck the firefighter fell out of was a Mack. Not a Seagrave.

The truck he fell out of was a Mack, but the problem with Seagrave is that they are slow in delivering new trucks.
