It's unclear whether or not a woman is still under a northbound F train at East Broadway and Canal Street (it happened around 9AM), but F train service has been rerouted to the A as we await reports on her condition. Authorities still don't know if she jumped, fell, or was pushed. As it happens, earlier this week, the Post reported that a drunk man fell into the Chambers Street southbound A tracks and escaped relatively unhurt when you think about a subway car running over you. The man managed to fall into the well between the tracks, and the Post added this graphic to explain how this would be possible. Here's hoping the woman is all right.
And Gawker points out the insensitivity in an ABC 7 breaking news alert about the incident.
Graphic from the NY Post

Insensitivity? Maybe.
But it is their responsibility to report delays. They just worded it wrong. And in a fast paced city such as NY, they had to stick that bit of info in there.
I was on a train in Tokyo when someone jumped in front of our train and was killed. But there was no sympathy from the commuters on our train; rather they were cursing the slain person for making them late.
But I guess it happens so many times they become numb to it.
Just my two cents
does anyone know if this affects brooklyn bound service as well? if so is it still? (it's now almost 2pm 12/2) i need to get the chinatown buses.
The insensitivity continues:

Woman Removed from Under Manhattan Train
Dec 2, 2005 11:28 am US/Eastern
(1010 WINS) (NEW YORK) A woman fell under a northbound F-train at Canal Street and East Broadway -- causing F-trains to be rerouted to the A-Line.
New York City Transit said the accident happened at 8:59 Friday morning. It was not clear if the woman fell, jumped or was pushed.
Northbound F service was rerouted to the A-Line from Jay Street, Brooklyn to West Fourth Street, Manhattan.
The fucking retarded bitch was transported to Bellevue Hospital.
I was on the downtown bound E earlier this afternoon, and it was being re-routed on th express line because of a "sick customer" on the local line.
Oh and I heard the conductor say "some.... is lying on the local track"
The headline of this post reminded me of the R. Kelly parody from the Scientology episode of South Park.
