I had brunch a week ago and decided to come back for dinner. First of all the best coffee in NY. Dinner was absolutely sublime. Comparable to Babbo at 1/3 the cost. Started out with cheese/salami tasting plate then had hen's broth with cheese dumplings and for main course sea bass with roasted tomato and asparagus. I was rendered speechless with ever bite. the wine selection is amazing. All in all one of the best dining experiences I ever had -- I will definitely be back.

We love Tarallucci in our neighborhood: since it's opened it's our favorite local cafe, serving just about the best espresso (Danese coffee) in lower NY. I was delighted to see one near my workplace: so I popped in one afternoon. Mini sandwich, toasted came w. a nice green salad, great service & w. espresso to finish, good price at $6.95! I was delghted. Returned Sunday night for light dinner: well there is no dinner really instead they do "assagi". I ordered a 7.95 sandwich, they were out, so the waiter suggested the lasagna instead: I wanted a glass of wine, but, gulp, no glass under $10. was available. The lasagna was very good, but why can't I choose a nice table wine to go with a 7.95 sandwich? like I am have to pay more for my wine than my entree?? no thanks. The decor is great, the service friendly, but assagi are a "fregatora" in my opinion, tiny eats for big prices along with those big single glass prices. OK if I am a big wine drinker, I may want to spend an evening tasting the better wines, but why not offer just those in for a bite a nice inexpensive glass of something drinkable? Please?
Desserts could be expanded here...there were only pastries left. I won't be back for dinner...but definately for the great coffee.

It is similar to LPQ. Paninis were ~$7 and large and came with salad. Large entree-type salads are about $11. Entrees are about $9-$16. Wine varies.

This place sounds WONDERFUL! Though I can't find any info online about pricing... can you compare it to another restaurant? More or less expensive than Le Pain Quotidien, for instance?
