are the wealthier people in nyc primarily republican? manhattan went something like 85% for john kerry in 2004. people in media, fashion, celebs, etc., tend to be democrats. as best as i know, it's only people in the financial industries who tend to be 'pubby.

I think Republicans like it because they're the ones who can afford to live here. If I had a nice apartment in a good neighborhood and could afford fancy bars and restaurants, I'd be pretty enthusiastic too.

i'd be surprised if republicans really are "more enthusiastic" about new york than democrats. i mean, the city is full of the things that repubs hate: minorities, gays, liberals, americans, new yorkers, public transportation... the list goes on.

I'm not sure why you said that about the Reps being more enthusiastic than the Dmes. When I looked at the informations it said the opposite: Tot Rep Dem Love 61% 57% Like 22 27 Mixed 15 13
