Holiday Fares All Around

Yesterday was the start of the MTA's holiday discount program where there are half fares and people seem to be pleased, as we're finally getting something back from the MTA, as small as it is. The Daily News spoke to a few people who were happy about the discount, clueless and happy about the discount, or grumpy because the discounted fare of $1 should be the year-round fare. MTA: You're damned it you do, damned if you don't!

Have you noticed your holiday fare discount? And you might want to get your unlimited 41-day Metrocards while they are still available... if you can find out where to get them.

I just got mine in the mail. a $12 Metro card and a 10 trip off-peak pass for the LIRR. In all that’s a value of 62 bucks.

Not bad. I am pleased.

But getting $62 in cash would’ve been even better.
