Now Columbia is turning into NYU. The Supreme Court goofed big-time with this eminent domain bullshit. Universities shouldn’t have that kind of power. I hope congress hurries up that bill to limit its use.

the bouncy castle was actually used the next day by some undergrad students advertising for musical tryouts... or something like that.

Ooh, someone beat me to it! I was going to say, "that's what I'll be able to afford to live in once I get my master's." Despite all the protest, though, my guess is CU will steamroll its way across Harlem unchecked. I imagine Lee Bollinger will swing the wrecking balls himself, if need be. It truly is sad - and I say this knowing full well how pressed for space the university is. Bye-bye, "community relations"!

Or, maybe it's that Columbia wants to remind its students that their checks will bounce for many years to come as they pay off student loans.
