Jared, I met Christopher this weekend and he is great. They are planning more exciting blends for the current vintage. I can't wait to see what he comes out with next.

Channing is one of my favorite vineyards on Long Island. They don't make the top Long Island wines, but the winemaker, Christopher Tracy, loves to experiment. Most of what they produce sells out to their wine club since it is made in small batches. The big downfall? Find a blend of theirs that you love and you might not be able to get it again.

it's a little off topic, but i love your comment about duane reade. i hate that place. it's a complete time suck. every time i walk in, there are five or six people waiting in line to pay, a bank of empty cash registers, and one cashier paying half-attention as he / she talks to a co-worker about their plans for the upcoming evening. grrrr.

I believe that they shut down on Thursday. Apparently the owners of the two places had some differences.
