Galapagos Tortoises at the Museum of Natural History

Gothamist cannot wait until the American Museum of Natural History's exhibit on Darwin opens. Not just beause evolution is a dirty word, but because there some Galapagos tortoises are in the museum's hizzy. The tortoises are totally the stars, as there's a little burst on the museum's website proclaiming, "Featuring LIVE Galapagos Tortoises, Iguanas and Frogs!" The New Yorker's Talk of the Town watches the "teenage" tortoises - apparently they like to eat metal locks, so we can only hope that the tortoises break loose and travel around the museum at their leisure, maybe catching the planetarium show.

The DARWIN show opens this Saturday at the Museum of Natural History, and will close in May. There are a few programs associated with it (we bet intelligent designers will be "questioning" presenters).
