Explosives Detectors Go Into Effect

2005_11_dustbuster.jpgWith this weekend's report of new bomb detectors the NYPD is trying out the devices in subway stations today, so that the strange new equipment at the NYPD's table at the subway entrance. One of the devices is described as looking like a Dustbuster (a boxier, black one), while the other is the kind that checks out the swab a police officer runs over a bag, and one of the locations they will be at is the 34th Street Herald Square station. Let us know if you get tested or if you seen anyone getting stopped.

And the NYCLU thinks this is a better way of searching people's bags for explosives, instead of rooting through them.
