I took two of Maureen Corrigan's classes when I was in school and she definitely ranked as one of my favorite professors. Her love of poetry and literature, of all genres, was self evident in her classroom discussions. One of the classes was a serious examination of pulp fiction novels by authors like Mickey Spillane, Jim Thompson, Chester Himes, and Raymond Chandler that infused a lot of their works with deeper meaning. I didn't know she had a book out though. I'll have to pick it up.
