Gotta love Michael Malice's logic.

If two conditions exist at once, one must be the cause of the other. Clearly.

This stuff is genius. Keep it coming, Malice.

paki, we've heard a ton about French racism before the riots. remember presidential candidate Le Pen, the xenophobe who almost won the French presidency? their hatred of arabs is well-known and well-documented.

the reason we have these riots is that there's 40% unemployment in these suburbs -- hardly any chance for economic self-improvement -- and it's a historically disenfranchised population, taken to the limit of their tolerance for being forced to assimilate this new culture, though without being able to reap its benefits.

i'm not satisfied by Malice's definition of freedom. if freedom means laissez faire tout, then it's hardly enough to be the basis of any kind of policy. some people come to the poker game with less chips than others, and so they deserve a bit of help.

Racism against Arabs and Africans doesn't seem to count. Did you hear anybody talking about French xenophobia and racism before the riots? What about Europe at large?
