The night you've been waiting for is finally here. Come support the Street Vendor Project of the Urban Justice Center and taste the wares of the finalists you selected at the Vendy Awards. There will be an open bar of wine and beer, and the finalists will be selling their food (at their usual street-level prices) to guests in attendance. A team of esteemed judges will determine the winner. After the honors are bestowed, DJ Diallo Internationale will spin world music into the night.$35 tickets available online or at the door. 7-10:30 pm, 27 East 4th Street in Manhattan.

November 10-13 & 16-20: Din Tai Fung Soup Dumpling Demonstration and Tasting
Tien tipped us off to the fact that Din Tai Fung, who serves what are "arguably the best soup dumplings in the world" will be holding a cooking demonstration and food tasting at the Sherton LaGuardia East Hotel in Flushing, New York, from 11/10-11/13, and 11/16-11/20. He's going to check it out himself -- we can't wait for the full report. [via Chowhound]

November 13: Drinkathalon NYC
Haven't played Beirut since college? Well, you'd better start practicing. It's one of the events in Drinkathalon NYC, a competition/pub crawl where teams compete in four boozy events at four different bars.
