The Mayor has no control over the MTA, and, in fact, barely has any influence over it. Most MTA board members are selected by the governor.

Good for New York. I wouldn't trade this version of New York for the Brooklyn I grew up in during the 1970s for anything.

bloomberg paid about $92 per vote ($66M/723,635 bloomberg voters).

Well, now maybe could he be such a nice guy and fix the MTA. Stop harassing bars. Prevent gentrification of Brooklyn. Lower the rents. Get the cops to eat less dough-nuts. Lax the pot arrest policy. And give some of his money to the Libraries.

Now wouldn't that be truly a nice gesture for a old rich gentleman. Busy-ness Men and Politicians deal in the currency of power, information, money. No smoking in your home ban is nice, but I'm really looking forward to the friendly soma machine to go with your HD TV converter box. Keep one in you box, I mean apartment. End of rant//

Thank god this election is over. The overt Bloomberg-love/Ferrer-bashing on this site was starting to get annoying

I liked your something something something blah blah blah next four years comment.
Did he mention Olympics or new Stadium or will a new pet project occupy his next term. A whole foods for every block, maybe?
