$5 Beer Dispute Gets Deadly

2005_11_beer.jpgA deadly brawl erupted at a Brooklyn club, as a bar patron fatally stabbed the bartender for refusing to serve him a beer early Sunday morning. Eduardo Carter was cleaning up, as they were closing up at the end of his son-in-law's birthday party. Albert Springer was initially refused a beer because he seem drunk, but he was so argumentative that Carter's daughter offered him two drinks. But then suddenly Springer jumped over the bar and stabbed Carter in the chest. Carter died He also stabbed a friend of Carter's who tried to intervene. The Daily News reported that Springer had "gripped the knife so tight witnesses said he sliced off parts of two of his own fingers." Carter died at Interfaith Medical Center and Springer is currently at Bellevue under observation.

    How come there is no press coverage at all about the stabbing on Orchard Street just north of Grand St on the Lower East Side Friday around 8:30/9:30pm
