DOG PARADE: This Saturday head over to Tompkins Square Park, even if you are sans dog, and watch the Dog Run Halloween Party. Dressing up your pup in garb could win you an iPod nano.
Saturday // Noon // Tompkins Square Park // Free (to watch) $5 (to participate)
PARTIES: Motherfucker is back, no live band this time but plenty of Rocky Horror.
Friday // Roxy [515 W 18th St] // $15 (coupon here for reduced admission)
If you'd rather go to Brooklyn for the night check out the Finger on the Pulse party. We hear they give free Sparks out after 1am...turn your tongue the color of Halloween and dance to the rhythm of your own heart palpitations.
Friday // The Graham Lounge [312 Graham Ave, Brooklyn] // Free
MUSIC: Of course we recommend checking out the Mountain Goats this weekend, on Monday they play with today's interviewee, Grizzly Bear, at the Knitting Factory. Tomorrow night they're at Bowery Ballroom.
Not your thing? Then may we suggest checking out The Ark tonight at Happy Valley [14 E 27th St]. The band goes on at midnight, but there's plenty to be done at the Swedepop night before the clock strikes 12.
Other Halloween music picks here.
THEATER: William Shakespeare's Haunted Pier
is brought to you by the Faux-Real Theatre Company, created and directed by Mark Greenfield. This interactive Halloween event will take place a few times this weekend, and we suggest you stop by.
