Family Gassed in Washington Heights

2005_10_w123.jpgA horrifying murder-suicide story unfolded last night as neighbors realized their neighbors killed themselves and their two young children in their 549 West 123rd Street apartment. A police source said, "It's real ugly in there," and the family of four may have been in the apartment for days. Fred Wang apparently mailed a friend in Taiwan, saying that he would kill himself and his family because of a business deal gone bad; the friend contacted a relative who arrived at the apartment ot find the dead family. Wang's mother was found in another room, safe and unaware of what had happened. Firefighters found "six pots of burned charcoal in the bedroom," with windows and doors sealed to create more than enough carbon monoxide to kill them.

Maybe she was too busy trying to figure out if their apartment was in Morningside Heights or Harlem.

Y'all are sick. Hello???? The fucking murder-suicide? Miss the point often? Anyway, how is it that the family "may have been in the apartment for days," but the grandmother was "found in another room, safe and unaware of what had happened"?

it goes morning side heights, above it is, harlem, above that is hamilton heights and above 160th (I say after the cemetary) is Washington Heights, wow, that's a big difference from 123rd which is so not Washington Heights.

Gotham only is downtown and where white people like to play "Friends"? WTF?

And just so my last comment doesn't come off as *totally* insensitive, this story is really, really sad.

The large housing development encircling the arrow on the map (b/n 123rd and LaSalle) is actually called Morningside Gardens. But considering this 'hood Wash Hts. or Morningside is a stretch! I'd just call it Harlem...
