Bloomberg and Clinton Photo Op Burns Ferrer

2005_10_bubbabloomby.jpgOuchy. As more polls continue to suggest that Mayor Bloomberg is enjoying a very comfortable lead over Fernando Ferrer in the mayoral race, and just as Ferrer is releasing a negative ad pointing out the places the Mayor went to promote to failed NYC 2012 Olympics bid, Bloomberg's team happily distributes a photograph of Bloomberg and former President Bill Clinton at a speaking event at the Waldorf Astoria. Hilariously, when Clinton aides tried to push reporters away from the two men, probably realizing that Clinton is stumping for Ferrer, Bloomberg's press secretary Ed Skyler (who, the NY Times notes, has clashed with the press, probably over the mysterious billiionaire mayor's weekend trips among other weird things Bloomberg does) yelled, "Don't push my press corps around." Whoa whoa, suddenly the press is a good thing! We just wonder if Bloomberg will be making a sizable donation to the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund as a thank you.

From the inane site linked above:

Four members of the MTA board were appointed by Bloomberg. The board is in charge of major MTA decisions, including fare hikes and service cuts.

Holy smokes -- the mayor is appointing people to the MTA Board?!

Pretty weak, folks. You're going to have to try a lot harder than that.

It looks like Bill is reaching for Mike's penis. I would think that this would play out as a scandal, but Mike does not appear to object. I don't think it wins votes to be in a photo op with Bill.

    A.Bloomberg looks downright giddy.

B.Just like Anthony Weiner said democrats cant expect people to vote for them just because they are democrats. Ferrer would be a pretty poor candidate even if he wasnt going against an incumbent mayor with high approval ratings.

I value democracy. But this race is just ridiculous.

I wish the democrats had their act together.

I'll probably vote for Bloomberg, even though he tends to bug me. Ferrer just doesn’t have anything going for him.

Where do you get these photos of Bloomberg,

the one above looks like Clinton's asking him out on a date and he's blushing.

I never seen Bloomberg with a smile that wide.

Don't be confused. Bloomie is a Republican. Period. He's just not a right-wing nutjob.

    dear kojak

glad to see you value democracy.

Clinton is too old to care about who you’re politically aligned with. He just wants to have fun. Ferrer should really just drop out of the race right now. Better then getting his ass handed to him by a massive margin in an election against Bloomie.

    Bloomberg is the ultimate Republicrat.
