The halal cart is my favorite food in the whole city!!! For the past 4 years, my family and I have been driving into the city (from NJ) on special occasions to get that food. so good. I'm so happy I can just walk down there now. The pita is a recent addition though, it helps deal with the spice a bit better. During the day there's this other dude who sells awesome philly cheesesteak sandwiches. Just for lunch though.

the dosa man is indeed on washington square south near thompson. i recommend the masala dosa (lentil crepe with potatoes, yum) or a samosa (only $1, perfect snack).

i think the dosa guy is the one in Washington Sq Park (south side, near Thompson). I haven't eaten his wares but he is well liked and draws a line, so it may be him.

Oh, man, those Hallo Berlin wursts are... mmmmlarrrghh.... drooling.... so freaking good. I like a Dictator Special, which is a currywurst, spuds, onions, kraut, other kraut, and a couple of German meatballs, all for six bucks or so. Of course, I also like pretty much everything else they sell, and if no one were looking, I'd probably drink the curry sauce right out of the squeeze bottle. They're on 54th and 5th. I think. Maybe it's 55th. Anyway, look for the long line and the little moustache, and there they are.
