Nothing like a fried turkey for Thanksgiving!!!!Jive Turkey has the best, so good the lines were out the door down the block and across the street! Get there early so you don't have to wait for hours or leave empty handed like I did and get a fried turkey for Christmas instead. Maybe those folks who were unhappy were at the end of the line.

I had a lovely Thanksgiving dinner with my husband a few years ago at Gage and Tollner...such a pity it closed. I seem to remember people on Chowhound complaining about Jive Turkey and delivery problems last year.

La Mangeoire on 2nd b/t 53rd & 54th. Can't remember how much the prix fixe was, but last year it was pretty good and there were choices for those who don't care for the traditional menu. www.lamangeoire.com

I have a friend who has a 20 inch oven and usually has 6-8 people over for Thanksgiving. I asked her how she does it and she told me two words "Neiman Marcus". They deliver everything pre-cooked, just needs to be warmed up. I think it might be cheaper than a restaurant. Good luck
