through October 29: Aureole Fights Breast Cancer
Aureole is participating in the Madison Avenue Pink Ribbon Project, which will donate funds to three of the country’s leading breast cancer research and treatment facilities. Through October 29th, Aureole will donate 10 percent of sales from their special menus to the project, benefiting Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Mount Sinai Hospital, and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Chef Dante Boccuzzi’s special menu features foods with health benefits: seared Dayboat scallop “coins” with creamy black trumpet pastina and caramelized cauliflower; and tender baby pheasant, braised and roasted with cornbread/sweetbread pudding and Brussels sprouts. Brussels sprouts contain powerful antioxidants. Cauliflower does as well, and also contains the chemical component indole-3-carbinol, shown to combat breast cancer by converting cancer-promoting estrogen into a more protective variety. The seven-course dinner tasting menu is available for $99, or $160 paired with wines; the five-course lunch menu is only $45, $75 with wines. A vegetarian version is available upon request. The link to the Mas farmhouse site took me to a random links-and-search engine page, which in turn pointed me to a celebrity nipple-slip page. You might want to look into that; there could be children reading this site.
