Protest in the Lincoln Tunnel!

Gothamist was there for the Campaign to End AIDS' protest walk through the Lincoln Tunnel this morning. The C2EA is walking all the way to Washington DC over the next couple of weeks, but we only tagged along for the first leg of the trip. Several hundred people turned out for the event, which kicked off at 7:30am this morning. In addition to supporting a good cause, we were very curious to check out the inside of the Lincoln Tunnel on foot. Turns out it's pretty much as you would expect-- although we did spot this cool mosaic that marks the NY-NJ border. Check out some more pictures of the event at Bluejake.

I'm all for spenging trillions of dollars on research that never gets anywhere to stop aids. But could you not block the few passages to get into the city you fucking bastards!??? You know how to stop aids? stop fucking!!!

that seems a bit uncalled for-- traffic wasn't backed up at all when we got to the other side of the tunnel-- a not surprising fact considering it was 8:30am on a saturday.

I doubt traffic was backed up that early. remember there's two tubes. One was probably open.
what about those 911 tribute runs or when the circus comes to town?????
You people with your traffic blah blah blah blah.
here's a hint, don't live in a metropolitan area if you don't like traffic.

There's always NJ Transit if you are in that much of a hurry at 8:30 on a Saturday... with all the crap we put up with regarding transportation delays in NY, at least this one (if it actually caused one) was for a reason.)
