Upcoming

2005_10_arts_dumbo.jpgFESTIVAL:: The 9th Annual D.U.M.B.O Art Under the Bridge Festival begins today and runs through the weekend. The schedule includes our faves: the Architecture Walk (today at 4pm), open galleries and lots of music lined up by Todd P.

All weekend // d.u.m.b.o Arts Center [30 Washington St, Brooklyn]

ART: For more than thirty years, Creative Time has helped artists animate unusual public places, from unlikely landmarks to neglected, abandoned areas. The Plain of Heaven is an international exhibition inspired by the impending redevelopment of the High Line, the disused elevated rail structure that runs up the west side of Manhattan. See how artists interpret the reclaimed site.

Friday October 14th through November 20th // 8-10pm tonight // 820 Washington St // Free

MUSIC: Tonight Grandmaster Flash, the first DJ to make the turntables a musical instrument, is back and in...the Meatpacking District?! Yeah.

Friday // GLO [431 W 16th St (btwn 9th & 10th)] // $15 at the door

The rest of you weekend music can be found at the end of this post. You could also buy some tickets for the next Movable Hype, they went on sale today.

REALITY: Casting directors from "The Real World," will be holding an open casting call this weekend and Jonathan Murray himself will be present to see if YOU fit one of the seven stereotypes that is always always always cast. So don't go trying to break the mold or anything.

Saturday // Bar Room Lounge [986 2nd Avenue] // Free (+ a little bit of your soul)

The Creative Time event is in Manhattan, not Brooklyn! - over by the High Line.
