October 12 & 13: London's "Cocktail King" at Pegu Club
Douglas Ankrah of LAB and Townhouse, London's cocktail hot spots, and author of Cocktails: Shaken & Stirred will be holding a special residency at Pegu Club this week. Douglas is going to be behind the bar, making drinks himself, tonight and tomorrow night until 8:30/9pm, but they'll be serving his specialty cocktails all night. 77 W. Houston St., near W. Broadway.

October 13: First Annual Break-Fast Bagel Boogie at Mo Pitkin’s
Maybe you fasted, maybe you didn't, maybe you atoned for your sins, maybe not. Mo doesn't care -- come break the fast either way. Enjoy an unlimited buffet, open bar (including the Manischevetini) and live music with Paul Shapiro’s Ribs & Brisket Revue (that's a band, not food). Tickets are $35.00 per person and can be purchased in advance online or at the door the night of the event, if available. 7-10pm, Mo Pitkin’s House of Satisfaction, 34 Avenue A, between 2nd and 3rd, 212-777-5660 .

October 14: Schnäck Burger-Eating Contest
Schnäck is holding a competition to see who can down the most of their mini-burgers in 8 minutes. The contest is sponsored by Schnack and their new location host, the Brooklyn Lyceum. The MC for the evening will be burger documentarian, George Motz, creator of Hamburger America. A screening of the movie will follow the competition, which begins at 8pm. Think you've got what it takes? Contact Harry Hawk, via email at habs@panix.com. And, yes, there are prizes, as well as some pretty serious rules.

where can a girl get a good clambake in NYC around this time of year?

Gay boyfriend was a little disappointed by the stinginess of the portions at Taste of Chinatown earlier this year. The only great deal was the pancakes at the Peking Duck House.
