I was walking around the area when I came upon the 9/27 evacuation last month. The street was blocked off and residents were standing around with their pets in carriers waiting to see if they'd be let back inside. Instant eviction via condemnation is one of the worst things that can happen in this city. Reminded me of the time when I saw the destruction of Irreplaceable Artifacts on Houston a few years ago. In a matter of hours, an entire building can be condemned and destroyed with everyone's possessions inside, with no chance to retrieve them.
