Terror Funding Will Go to Terror Targets

2005_10_chertoffmonster.jpgThe Department of Homeland Security will dole out its terror-related federal funding by determining which areas are at greatest risk, after Congress agreed to the measure. Just think, it only took four years for that to happen! The Senate had been dragging its feet to give areas with more risk more anti-ferror money because Senators of states that aren't obvious threats wanted an equal share of the money, in the oft-cited example, currently Wyoming receives more per capita in funding than New York. Senator Schumer is still concerned that the measure isn't enough, because overall funding for certain things, like first respose, has dropped. It'll be interesting to see how the government will juggle things around to find money for certain areas. And might Gothamist say that Department of Homeland Security head Michael Chertoff looks like a monster? He's a perfect Halloween ghoul.
