The man is a scumclown - a weird mixture of clown and scumbag. Every day that I wake up in this fair Borough, knowing that this man represents it to the wider world, is a slightly darker one than it should be. The man should not even be super at a Sheepshead Bay condo. Vote Gloria!

I love Marty! Whenever I see him (and being a Brooklyn resident, I see him fairly frequently) I feel cheered up. I hardly think he could be singlehandedly blamed for the property and waterfront development happening in Brooklyn - not only does he not have that much power to spearhead or veto such efforts, it's a natural extension of all the property and waterfront development that's been happening in Manhattan. A quote from MM about real estate prices in Brooklyn: "Blessed are those who bought early."

is the office of bbp actually empowered to sell out the waterfront, etc.? sounds like he was having a hell of a time getting the city to allow him to put up a funny sign.

marty is basically a media putz and a buffoon who is actively selling the city and it's waterfront to the (apparently) lowest bidder, who will build the cheapest possible tax-free crap-boxes. Brooklyn deserves much better.

Agreed that signs are dumb and al, but felt it worth pointing out that the sign has already been over the w'burg bridge for at least several months

I hate to be negative about anything that is conceived of as an improvement (on any level) to any of the boroughs, but those signs are SO lame! Every time I driive past that one at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge I gag at the inanity.
