Pennington Out for Season

The news keeps getting worse for the Jets. It looks like Chad Pennington will be out for the rest of the season with another tear to his right rotator cuff. With his second tear to that shoulder, the injury could be a career threatening one for the Jets quarterback.

As we mentioned yesterday, the injury occurred in the 2nd half of Sunday's 26-20 loss to the Jaguars. Because Jay Fiedler, Pennington's backup, also suffered a shoulder injury, Brooks Bollinger will start his first NFL game Sunday against the Ravens.

With a positive 2004 season, the Jets looked to build on the performance this year, but with the Pennington injury, it looks like the Jets might be in the market for their next quarterback of the future. Whether or not that is Bollinger remains to be seen. Expect some free agent signings soon.
