Car Injures Beauty Pageant Contestants

Of all horrible coincidences, five teenage Miss Taxi International contestants were run down by a car in the Hispanic Parade. The Queens parade was getting its start in Jackson Heights when one of the organizers, as the Daily News reports, "accidentally hit the gas, clipped them from behind and dragged at least two underneath his vehicle." Police did not cite the driver, and the most serious injuries were a fractured ankle from one and a fractured leg from another girl. This is the second year of the Miss Taxi International beauty pageant; other than this article from last year, we can't find much more about it.
