OPTO: No Mo'?

After three months of operating with only one conductor, the L train is going back to two. The MTA caved yesterday to union pressure to return the second conductor (Local 100 of the Transport Workers Union of America claims that having a single-operator in trains larger than four cars goes against their contract) while holding on to the option to appeal to the State Supreme Court in the future.

Pairs of conductors will return to L starting with the midnight shift on Monday. But while New York City Transit might have given up their hopes of a single conductor L, they are still claiming that come December the G will be completely conductorless (it's currently conductorless only on weekends). Gothamist can handle a G with no conductor if they'd only stop running the train in two sections all the time...
