An Upside to Having a Trapeze School By The River

Yesterday afternoon, the police asked people teaching and learning at Trapeze School New York if they could borrow rope to rescue a man who jumped into the Hudson. Instructors Paul Cannon and Jonah Spear did them one better, taking a rope and a safety harness, and dove into the water to find the victim, James Kue. A student at the school performed CPR on him, and Kue, a homeless man living at a shelter, was taken to Bellvue.

A firefighter told the Daily News, "These guys did a pretty solid job. They really went forward without regard for their own safety. There's a lot of pylons and rocks and shallow water and they could have gotten themselves hurt." Eek, that's true, that part of the river is scary that way.
