September 25-29: Latin Beer Tasting

Time Out New York continues to celebrate its tenth birthday with Eat Out ’05, a tasting event benefitting the Food Bank For New York City. Participating restaurants include Aix, Artisanal, Aureole, Blue Hill, Chanterelle, Chocolate Bar, Ciao Bella, cube63, Dumpling Man, EN Japanese Brasserie, Gotham Bar & Grill, Haku, Hummus Place, ‘ino / ‘inoteca, Landmarc, Little Giant, Lupa, Max, Mermaid Inn, Murray’s Cheese, Nobu, Oceana, Pampano, Payard Pâtisserie & Bistro, P.J. Clarke’s, Peasant, Plate NYC, Riingo, 66, Smoked, Stanton Social, Strip House, Sueños, Tamarind, Tia Pol, Waldy’s Pizza, Wallsé, wd-50 and Xing. 7-9pm Tasting & Cocktails; 9-10pm Music & Cocktails. Skylight (275 Hudson St at Spring St). Tickets are $80 and can be purchased online.

September 27: Restaurants for Relief
Join this nationwide event by eating at a restaurant that has pledged a portion of their profits to Share Our Strength’s Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund, which directly benefits area food banks in Alabama, Louisiana and Texas. Reservations can be made through OpenTable.com, or through the restaurants themselves. For a list of participating restaurants, or to make a separate donation, visit the Restaurants for Relief website.

September 27: Swinging Out Downtown
And just in case you didn't have enough to do that night, you can also eat at 71 Clinton Fresh Food (71 Clinton St.), Alias (76 Clinton St.), Falai (68 Clinton St.), or Chibitini (63 Clinton St.) -- each participating restaurant will contribute 10% of the proceeds to the Grand Street Settlement's Project Playground, which will help rebuild a playground at 294 Delancey Street. The project will give some 100 2-to-6-year-old children living in public housing on the Lower East Side, including those enrolled in the settlement's Head Start and Early Childhood Programs, a safe and stimulating place for unstructured play.
