-Looking for something to do right now? The Robert Smithson floating island we told you about earlier is having its public opening tonight from 5-7 on Pier 46 (Charles and West Streets). After that the boat that some have dubbed "the anti-Gates" will be visible for the next week from 8 A.M. to 8 P.M.
-The MTA seems to have put a cease and desist on the makers of those iPod subway maps. That seems a little silly to us.
-Bloomberg is against Supreme Court Nominee Roberts.
-As usual, we are so staying away from the river of puke that is San Genero, but if that's your thing...
-Have you heard about this whole CMJ thing? Yeah, ends tonight.
-Want to see Broadway for free? Check out Broadway on Broadway tomorrow in Times Square. Lots of big names are going to be performing live and for free. Show starts at 11:30 but you probably want to show up early if you want to see anything.
-Not surprisingly (though the Post seems to think it is), many New York women would like to sleep with Angelina Jolie.

Very Nice, I wish I had time to make it up this week to see this cute little floating island. I think alot of us girls outside of New York like Anglina as well. :)

The other day I was showing a couple of visiting friends around lower manhattan and we happened to be sitting at the World Financial Center looking at the boats when the Smithson exhibit floated by.

One of them said, "Um, excuse me, but is that a little park being towed around by a boat?"

I replied, "We have so little green space in the city that park theft is becoming a bigger and bigger problem. That's why all of our trees are in cages."

"Floating Island" -- yeah, I like that idea. There's something inherently amusing about a little green "island" floating around a not-so-green island. At last we have a true "Environmental Artist"--unlike that other one.
