Rio mar was actually across the street from One.
I don't know who has occupied it now, as I have purposely not set foot in that area for almost two years.

the meatpacking district has been named Douchebag Square. Not to be confused with it's sister destination of that strip of Third Ave. in the 30's called Douchebag Alley.

It's a nice enough place - I've eaten there - but the lament is real; if they served sangria, you'd be lucky to get a thimble-ful for $8. It's overpriced to hell, and the scene is obnoxious on the weekends.

Rather pretty when no one's in there, though.

This makes me sad. Because this is where Rio Mar used to be located, a classic Spanish place that had the best food and $8 bottomless pitchers of Sangria. It was such as special restaurant that to see this souless place come into the space that looks exactly like every other place, it just is such a drag.
