Manhunt for Subway Pleasurer

With his mug plastered on the Daily News, there's speculation that the caught-on-cameraphone pervert is a raw-food restaurant owner. The joke nearly writes itself. The Daily News says that many people have contacted them and the NYPD to say they think it could be Dan Hoyt, the co-owner of Quintessence. Hoyt has been contacted for questioning, but his ex-wife and Quintessnce co-owner says nothing's been proven yet and "There should be a support center to support these men to find what is the cause of their action instead of ...putting them in jail." What does suck is if you happen to have similar features to the subway onanist.

And a subway clerk was flashed by a man, who then lunged for her, at the 34th and 8th Avenue station; some other subway riders saw what was happening and screamed, forcing the man to flee.

Yeah, random woman, I'd say he "had a thing" too (not fetish) and then I'd ask myself...Self: what difference does it make whether the wanker had a thing for blondes, Asians or short people? But if you read Anna's post, it's something we need to get to the bottom of. Like, it's going to help solve the crime if we know what turns the perv on. Whatevs.

You're too late, JP; there was already an "SVU" about a subway rapist (way back in season 1), which featured a red-herring perp who was merely a subway masturbator. He was not, however, the owner of a restaurant, so that's a new angle. Every time I see that one I'm afraid to ride the subway all over again -- not so much because of the crime, but because not one of the witnesses did anything to stop or report it. So this real-life incident actually makes me feel better.

I'd personally then say he obviously had a thing for blondes or short women. But that's just me.

I sense a Law and Order: SVU in the making based on this incident. DUN-DUNH!

Vegetarian Hall of Fame: Hitler and now, possibly, this jerk-off with his special sauce restaurant.

Dave H., you are a genius of criminology.

Hmm, would you be calling fetish if both the ex-wife and the victim were blonde or short?

  • Anna

    This is hilarious.

  • If this is the guy and he purchased a metro card with a debit or credit card, it would be relatively simple for the cops to place him in the subway system on a certain line at a certain time concurrent with when these incidents occurred. Unless, of course, he made a point of staying in the system for a while and changed lines, but that's unlikely given the compulsive/impulsive nature of the crimes.

Anna - I thought the same exact same thing!

Has anybody noticed that if indeed the flasher is Dan Hoyt, he may have some kind of Asian fetish? This is obviously just ridiculous speculation but his victim is Asian and his (potential) ex-wife is Asian. Now we just need to figure out the races of the other victims of the subway flasher...

    SketchedOut -

I didn't even look at their menu, so of course I hadda look, and found fair game as this gem from the Shakes & Smoothies list:

    "Young Coconut Shake

Creamy blend of Young Coconut Meat with it's own juice, no added sugar or any sweetener. Packed with electroyles."

I'm avoiding looking to see if they've got any "tossed salads", for fear of breaking into Chris Rock mode... ;)

    Good one, urban redneck.

    How about this one:

    Vanilla Creme

You don't need whipped cream if you have our Vanilla Creme. It's creamy, fluffy and taste better than whipped cream, not to mention it is much more healthy too. Made with fresh young Coconut with a touch of Agave Necter. See under Pantry for Coconut Meat's health benefits.

If it is indeed that guy (sorta looks like him if you look at the About Us listing on the restaurant's website), then maybe that explains this review on the Menupages.com URL:

    "Posted by person on 02/13/2004

    Hard to digest!

This place is hard for even a vegetarian to digest! The food tastes very..unique. Very nutty and a lot of flavors mixed together. I have gone there a few times and it's always an interesting experience but the food doesn't leave you feeling warm or full. It's great to eat to wash out your system!"
