City Council Members Warns Against Cell Phones

City Councilwoman Eva Moskowitz is saying that some of your cell phones may be
dangerous due to radio waves and possible radiation. Dunh dunh dunh, even though there isn't any conclusive cell phone-cancer link. Moskowitz says a list of the cell phones and how many radio waves will hit your body if you use them sans headphones, and the two worst offenders are Motorola models V.120E and V.60x. Moskowitz said, "I didn't want to be alarmist. I just wanted consumers to be educated and to make their own decisions about the possible health risks." Let's face it - just like Gothamist, she must believe that Special Agent Dana Scully got cancer from her cellphone.

Here's the City Council website, but we know people are more interested whether or not there's even cell phone reception - hence the city's Cell Phone survey!

Excellent X-Files reference.

1) Kudos for giving us a picture of Gillian Anderson on a Monday morning.

2) Eva Moskowitz: "I didn't want to be alarmist." Fake quote: "I just wanted to get my name in the paper for something I'm unqualified to opine about and have no ability to regulate." I believe that is, by definition, the true meaning of being alarmist.

Eva Moskowitz is a whiney little twerp who should fight for something that's actually backed up by conclusive scientific fact.

Gillian Anderson looks hot in that pic. Mulder should've boinked her when he had the chance.

"I definitely don't want to learn later that these things cause cancer."

Baloney. Like most people, she's so addicted to her cell phone that she wouldn't give it up even if there was hard evidence of it right now. Look at all the idiots who still light up despite decades of the Surgeon General's warnings.

You guys should check your references...

The council.info main page does not seem to link in any obvious way to the list.

However, CNET and others provide one -- easy to find by googling SAR phone ratings.

And the Moto V60x series has about a 0.4 rating, which is nowhere near the top...

Gotta be careful what you believe in blogs...
