so when did gothamist officially become a product placement site? don't tell me that you're not getting paid by noho star for this. it couldn't read more like ad copy if it tried.

no knock on noho star, they do a nice breakfast, but "If skeptical of clashing flavors, fear not, Gothamist assures you Noho Star's chefs are cooking with organic eggs, highest quality meats & seafood, and in-season, market-fresh fruits and vegetables."??? gimme a break...

Noho Star is an old favorite (used to see John Kennedy Jr. there all the time in the late 80's)

they have lots of great stuff including killer hot fudge sundaes. the fried chicken salad with stilton is EXCELLENT! here's a photo!

i didnt go to noho star for the first 10 years of my ny life. it reminded me of something from the valley or west hollywood. maybe it was those columns..pure motels, 1982. once i grew up and got over the empty references i realized how great it is. its a great airy space with an especially great breakfast. service is good, they hire interesting reliable people. food is fresh, not overly creative or greasy, sort of "healthy" but not in any distracting way. i always wonder whos in charge - it seems like a tight ship. i appreciate it now more than when i first moved here. the crowd is a good one, writers, architects, photographers, (you would be shocked to know who some of the regulars are - obviosly balthazar is becoming out of fashion) an occasional lost tourist comes in and gets a break from the confusion immed. outside of the huge windows. i live a block away and work above it, its become my commisary.
