FILM: Check out the Gothamist Weekend Movie Guide. Personally we want to check out Last Days this weekend, we haven't seen a Van Sant film since Gerry. The thought of seeing the real news footage of Kurt Loder when Kurt Cobain died, after not having seen it since it happened, gives us the chills - but we're sort of itching for some nostalgia. Others may be wanting to check out 9 Songs, the love story of "a young couple whose relationship blossoms through their love of music and sexual exploration." Featuring the Super Furry Animals, Franz Ferdinand and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, the soundtrack is solid, but apparently the movie really sucks.
Either way, Gothamist just got totally screwed on some bad "still in theater" dvd's we bought on the street...so we'll be sticking to legal viewings from now on.

Shame on Gothamist for never seeing Elephant - one of the greatest pieces of cinema recently.
