i don't think giving the constitution a rest is where i want government to go. for me, that's a big strike against him. but like i said, that's pretty much the only thing i don't like about him and i agree that he's less of a politician than any other option i've seen.

I agree with Simon. Bloomberg has done much for our city, including a lot for the outer boroughs. That's why the Riverdale Democrats and then Hikind have backed him so strongly. And yes, he is tolerant. Combine that with sound judgment and sensible policies, and he's my man.

We finally got ours. I'm so excited!! Regardless of how ickey this is, I'll probably vote for Bloomie. I hate how he's cracked down on bike riders and protests in general, and the whole RNC thing left a nasty taste in my mouth, but I feel like he plays politics much less than someone like Giff or Freddy would. I also like Virginia C., but she's going nowhere fast.

hijiki, give it a rest. Bloomberg has been the most tolerant mayor in some time. Look at what the city has had to deal with in leadership the last few times around. The guy deserves credit on many fronts. While I typically side more on the liberal/democratic side, Bloomberg has won me over. He's done a lot more in the outer boroughs (more than most), has kept the economy orderly, atempted to keep costs down, tackled some tough issues and owes no favors.

I'm happy to see Assemblyman Hikind following the lead of his principled Democratic cousins from Riverdale in the Bronx. As you may recall, it was just the other week that the Riverdale-based Northwest Bronx Democratic Alliance (NBDA) became the first Democratic club in the city to endorse Mike Bloomberg. The Riverdale Democrats at the NBDA did a bold & brave thing by crossing party lines to endorse the best candidate. Hopefully, the NBDA started a trend. Mr. Hikind's endorsement of the Mayor can be seen as evidence of this.

"promises kept, civil liberties lost."

too bad he doesn't care much for the constitution, otherwise i'd really support him.

all i could think of the flyer was that the design was bad and we didn't need 3 copies at our one address. honestly, we didn't need any.

I'll say this for Bloomberg, he doesn't play the racial divide and conquer games like his predecessors Guliani and Koch. After the African American dude was beaten in Howard Beach, he immediately promised to prosecute the thugs who perpretrated the crime.

I honestly thought at first that it was a spoof on a movie poster for some bad romantic comedy (a la "Must Love Dogs").

Looks like that while Virginia Fields has been photoshopping to get asian votes Bloomberg has been photoshopping to go for gay votes.
