Comedians of Comedy and Craigslist

2005_07_artscraig.jpgPretty much anything or anyone can be found on Craigslist. For five years, New Yorkers have been hip to the site for their no-fee apartment needs or to unload post-college Ikea furniture. But when the "Hot Sketch Comedy Submissions" call went out earlier this year to every city of the Craigslist board, aspiring writers everywhere heard it and sent in their best sketches to Chris Kula and Charlie Todd. The pair has turned this material into Found on Craigslist. Choosing the best works would have been too easy, instead they opted to take some poetic license with the more...questionable...material and stage dramatic readings of it. Not to miss: Scott Brown's poetic musings on embarrassing missed connections and that free Chronicles of Riddick DVD someone tried to unload.
Found on Craigslist at the UCB Theatre, Thursday at 8pm - $5

Also not to miss this week the Comedians of Comedy Tour on Friday at 9pm. Patton Oswalt is enough reason to go, but the lineup also includes Brian Posehn, Zack Galifinakis and Maria Bamford who, if our "Comedy Central Presents" memory serves, does an eerily accurate impression of Meredith Baxter Birney. And lord knows we love our Elise Keaton humor.
Irving Plaza - 17 Irving Place @ 15th Street - $20 advance, $22 at the door
