Dance Dance Revolution

I'm getting married soon and my fiancée and I would like to learn a few dance steps prior to the big bash. Are you aware of any places in brownstone Brooklyn that gives lessons?

Spoke the Hub (748 Union Street) is a good place to start. The center offers ballroom, Latin and swing dancing classes for all levels and can point you in the right direction if you and your bride-to-be want private instructions or if your schedule doesn't exactly match theirs. Ask Gothamist found an instructor through STH prior to our wedding and we're still using the hoofing skills we learned at only a few lessons a year later at other weddings and parties.

If you're feeling a little less secure in your dancing abilities or want to do more than the Frankenstein box step, you might consider having your big first dance choreographed by professionals. While not Brooklyn-based, the ladies at MatrimonyMony have helped blushing brides and grooms bring down the house with dances tailored to fit a couple's skills or lack thereof.
