I love how Giuliani is up to saying 'September 11, 2001' in every sentence he speaks. He gets accolades for not freaking out after the attacks. Big deal. Believe it or not, I generally expect that quality in our leaders.

The way I look at it, the further away from that dark day we get, the more chances we'll get to see of the pre-9/11 Giuliani that we all loved to hate. He was and always will be a heel. He brought down the mob because his dad was *in* the mob. He knew it from the inside-- that's how he brought it down when he went to work as a DA. And guess what- organized crime is still here, and speaking many more languages than it used to.

It's big and gigantic, all right, but that space is anything but empty. It's full of himself.

Wonder if he'll find a way to make big bucks off of this tragedy too.

What a whore. I'd be willing to drop the terrorist label for the first group that kills him. (ducks)

I remember the summer before 9/11, I was in Central Park for a free Living Colour concert, and the announcer thanked Guiliani. A chorus of boos went up. A few months later with the city in chaos, he kept his cool and got the job done. Was he heavyhanded at times during his run? Sure. But you don't take down the mob, and for that matter keep the city from freaking out after a terrorist attack, by playing middle of the road.

The concert announcer responded to the boos by saying "No, no, no....you're gonna miss him when he's gone." Damn straight.
